Additionally, post-secondary students can choose from many Los Angeles-area schools including University of Southern California, University of California at Los Angeles and California State University at Northridge.

Castaic’s real estate market consists mainly of a selection of single-family detached homes. A select few condominiums and townhouses are available in the $300,000s. Prices for single-family homes start in the mid-$300,000s and large estate properties start in the low $600,000s. Most houses have three or four bedrooms, two stories, two-car garages, central air conditioning, sprinkler systems and fenced yards. The majority of homes are located on fairly large lots and several offer scenic views. Some neighborhoods offer access to community facilities such as swimming pools and spas.

Castaic is framed by the Los Padres National Forest and Angeles National Forest. Vasquez Rocks, Lake Piru, Pyramid Lake, Castaic Lake, Hungry Valley State Vehicle Recreation Area and the San Bernardino Mountains provide plenty of outdoor fun. Six Flags Magic Mountain and Santa Monica Beach are other favorite weekend getaways.
